Overview

The Planning Board reviews applications for site development, land subdivisions, and Environmental Protection Overlay District permits as authorized in the Town code. It also advises the Town Board on zoning change and special use permit applications and develops short- and long-range land use planning policies.

  • Contents: Written comment must include the project address as well as the commenter’s name and address.
  • Written comment submission date: The business day before the hearing by 4:30 pm.

To provide verbal comment at the public hearing:

  • Attend public hearing at Town Hall.
  • The Board Chair will open the floor for public comment.
  • Approach the podium, speak clearly into the microphone, and state your name and address for the record.
  • Comments may not exceed five (5) minutes in length.

Schedule of Public Hearings

The Planning Board will adjourn all unfinished business at 11:00 p.m. for the purpose of acting on previously reserved decisions and matters not completed will be adjourned to the next scheduled board meeting. Applications that are incomplete will not be presented to the Board until All required information is submitted to Planning and Zoning. Thank you for your cooperation.

The Town of Irondequoit Seeks Applications for Planning Board, Planning Board Alternate, Zoning Board of Appeals, and Zoning Board of Appeals Alternate Members.

The Town is currently seeking letters of interest and resumes for Members and Alternate Members to serve on the Irondequoit Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals.  Full Members are appointed by the Town Board for a term of seven years.  Alternate Members, who serve when full Members are absent or unable to participate on an application or matter, serve for a term of three years. 

The following criteria is required to apply:

  • Applicants must be a Town resident above the age of 18 years old.
  • Submission of a Letter of Interest and Resume.  The Letter of Interest must specify which position(s) the applicant seeks, whether: (a) Planning Board Member; (b) Planning Board Alternate Member; (c) Zoning Board of Appeals Member; or (d) Zoning Board of Appeals Alternate Member. 
  • Following appointment, attendance at required trainings and compliance with all applicable laws.  

The Planning Board of the Town of Irondequoit is established by the Town Board, pursuant to the provisions of § 271 of the Town Law.   The Zoning Board of Appeals of the Town of Irondequoit is established by the Town Board, pursuant to the provisions of § 267 of the Town Law.
