4. Tree-lined streets are one of Irondequoit's greatest characteristics and the Department of Publics Works is committed to growing our future. Trees play a vital role in creating a healthier, safer and more connected community. They help to clean our air, filter our water, and cool our neighborhoods. If you would like to be a part of the planting efforts and the steward of a new street tree, please fill out the information below.

8. Proper tree planting begins with planting the Right-Tree in the Right-Place. Species suggestions are welcomed, but the final selection will be made by the Town Arborist based on planting site characteristics, surrounding tree composition and species availability. 

   Trees will be planted in the spring and fall when conditions are most favorable. More information will be provided, including aftercare tips and how to help the young tree thrive in it's new home. Thank you for your support!
