Irondequoit Begins Electronics Recycling Program
First Drop-Off Scheduled On Earth Day
Beginning Saturday, April 22nd, 2023, the Town of Irondequoit will offer its residents monthly electronics recycling services. The first drop-off event coincides with Earth Day. In January of this year, the Town Board unanimously adopted a resolution to enter into an agreement with Sunnking, a local electronics recycling company. Sunnking is authorized by the New York State Department of Conservation to accept and process electronics as scrap.
“There are several benefits of electronics recycling and it’s an activity that can help make a positive impact on the environment,” said Irondequoit Town Supervisor, Rory Fitzpatrick. “It results in a cleaner environment and reduces pollution with a bonus that we get to declutter our home.”
